    This volume contains papers (mainly correspondence and financial statements) concerning diplomatic and consular expenditure by the Government of India and the British Government, mostly in relation to Persia [Iran]. Part 2 relates specifically to expenditure on consular buildings.

    Each part includes a divider which gives the subject and part numbers, the year the subject file was opened, the subject heading, and a list of correspondence references contained in that part by year. This is placed at the back of the correspondence.

    Physical characteristics:
    Foliation: the foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the inside front cover with 1, and terminates at the inside back cover with 255; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio.


    The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the rear to the front of the volume.

    The subject 266 (Diplomatic and consular expenditure) consists of two volumes, IOR/L/PS/10/130-131. The volumes are divided into three parts, with part 1 comprising one volume, and parts 2 and 3 comprising the second volume.
