Fragment of a petition for redress of injury and imprisonment by Athenodorus, requesting protection from the chief of the guards (archiphylakites) and another man. Written on Epeiph 27 (line 1).

Papyrus sheet from mummy cartonnage, lacking its left half, but well preserved in the surviving portion. Writing runs along the fibres on one side, the back being blank; there are 26 lines, well preserved, but lacking the beginnings with the exception of line 26. Upper, lower and right margins are minimal. A sheet-join runs along the height of the sheet at c. 60 mm from the right edge. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Papyrus sheet reused as mummy cartonnage, broken off to the left, damaged by holes and with minor surface damage; written on one side along the fibres. A scrap with writing is glued onto the back. The front bears 22 lines, lacking the beginnings, for a loss of 3-5 letters; the text breaks off at the bottom. Upper and right margins survive. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Papyrus sheet reused as mummy cartonnage, almost complete, only lacking the lower right corner; with few holes and minor surface damage in places. Writing runs across the fibres on the front and along them on the back. On the front there are 8 lines, with line 7 written in the right-hand half of the sheet, and line 8 indented. All margins survive, and there is a modern annotation. The back bears 3 lines written in the lower left corner and an additional line next to them; the text was written upside down in relation to the text on the front. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Two fragments of a papyrus sheet reused as mummy cartonnage, with some 20 letters lost in between; mutilated at the bottom (front), and with few small insect holes in the preserved fragments. Writing runs across the fibres on the front and along them on the back. On the front, the left fragment bears the beginnings of 3 lines and the right fragment the ends of 6 lines. Both fragments have modern annotations. On the back there are three rubbed lines arranged in one column and a word written next to it; on the other fragment, written in the reverse direction, there is another line. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

A: Lacking the left-hand half; with minor surface damage; 10 lines written across the fibres, lacking the beginnings; lower and right margins minimal; upper margin extant.

B: Small strip with 2 lines running across the fibres and traces of another line.

C: Upper left corner of a sheet, with the beginnings of 4 lines written across the fibres.

D: Fragment with beginnings of 6 lines written along the fibres.

E: With some surface damage; lines run along the fibres; the ink is faint.

Two fragments of a mid-brown papyrus sheet from mummy cartonnage; broken off at the bottom (front), with traces of plaster, especially on the back, and minor surface damage in places; written on both sides. The front bears one column of 26 lines written across the fibres, with a gap between lines 18 and 19. Side margins are minimal; the upper margin measures 15 mm. The modern annotation indicates the mummy from which the papyrus comes. The back has one word written along the fibres in the lower right corner, upside down in relation to the text on the front. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.
