Fragments of papyrus sheets reused as mummy cartonnage from the same register; written on one side along the fibres and mounted on cardboard in the same glass frame.

Upper fragments and lower left fragment (A): Fragments from two consecutive sheets of the same roll; the upper fragments join at the bottom right and preserve 25 lines of one column, with line 12 being lost. The lower fragment contains the bottom left corner of the second column, with the beginnings of 19 lines.

There are 9 additional fragments preserving further portions of these two columns and of a third consecutive column: these are BL Papyrus 596(a-b), and the papyri in Trinity College, Dublin, inventoried as FF4 (5 fragments), FF6, F30. Trinity College FF6 joins BL Papyrus 492A at the top right, and preserves the middle portions of the first 10 lines. BL Papyrus 596b joins with BL Papyrus 492A at the bottom, and contains 20 lines from the lower left part of column 1; one of the fragments inventoried as Trinity College FF4 and F30 joins with BL Papyrus 492A, lower fragment.

Lower right fragment (B): Broken off on all sides, with portions of 19 lines; no margin survives. A sheet-join runs across the fibres at c. 5 mm. from the right edge.

Fragment of a papyrus roll reused as mummy cartonnage, broken off at the sides, with residues of plaster and red paint, and surface damage in places; writing runs along the fibres on one side, the back being blank. There are portions of two columns: the first column has 38 lines, lacking the beginnings; the second is badly mutilated, and only few letters from the beginnings of few lines survive. Upper and lower margins are extant. Two sheet-joins run from top to bottom, one in the middle of column one, and the other in the right edge. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Fragment of a papyrus sheet extracted from mummy cartonnage, with plaster residue; broken off at the top and left, and damaged along the right edge as well; written on one side along the fibres. The front bears portions of 14 lines from the foot of a column, with traces of another line at the top. All lines lack the beginnings. The lower and part of the right margins survive. Setoffs of another text are visible at the bottom right. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Papyrus fragments of varying size from a register, reused as mummy cartonnage and bearing writing on one side along the fibres, the back being blank. The fragments are mounted on cardboard in two glass frames, named Papyrus 495(1) and Papyrus 495(2).

Papyrus 495(1): Two fragments with portions of one column; the left fragment, made of two smaller fragments, preserves the beginnings of 22 lines; the right fragment bears portions of 13 lines, which are the continuation of lines 8-20 of the left fragment. About 18 letters are missing between the fragments.

Papyrus 495(2): Upper fragment: portion of 19 lines; lines 1-8 are further portions of lines 20-22 of Papyrus 495(2), left fragment. A fragment of Papyrus 496 joins on the left and contains further portions of lines 1-8; another fragment of Papyrus 496 preserves the beginnings of lines 6-11. One sheet-join runs from top to bottom.

Lower fragment: From the foot of a column, with remains of 3 lines; a sheet-join runs from top to bottom along the right edge. The position of this fragment in relation to the others is unknown.

Upper left fragment (A): Broken off on all sides, with surface damage at the bottom; there are portions of 7 lines; a sheet-join runs from top to bottom at c. 5 mm from the right edge.

Lower left fragments (B-C): Two fragments containing further portions of one of the fragments of Papyrus 495(2): the left fragment contains the beginnings of 6 lines, corresponding to lines 6-11 of Papyrus 495(2), upper fragment. The right fragment bears portions of 8 lines (= lines 1-8 of Papyrus 495(2) upper fragment).

Right fragment (D): Good quality papyrus, broken off at the bottom and right, with plaster and red paint residue; with portions of one column and a sheet-join opposite lines 1-3, in the left edge.

Two fragments from two papyrus sheets of the same register, reused as mummy cartonnage, with plaster residue on the back; mounted in the same glass frame.

Left papyrus (A): Papyrus fragment, broken off at the bottom and sides, and written on one side along the fibres. The back bears no writing. The front contains portions of 19 lines, with traces of another line at the bottom; they all lack beginnings and ends. Part of the upper margin survives. Three additional fragments, all from Trinity College, Dublin (inv. nos. F29 and E16), contain further portions of this column and parts of 8 lines of another column preceding this one.

Right papyrus (B): Broken off at the bottom and damaged by holes, especially at the top; bearing portions of two columns, written along the fibres on the front; of the first column, the ends of 19 lines survive; of the second column, 24 lines remain. Two sheet-joins run along the height of the papyrus, the first at c. 20 mm from the end of column 1 and the other at c. 5 mm from the right edge. With plaster and traces of ink on the back.

Three additional fragments containing furhter portions of these two columns and the beginning of a third column are in Trinity College, Dublin, and at Halle University. The fragment inventoried as Trinity College Dublin FF 73 joins the BL papyrus at the bottom on the left and preserves 11 additional lines of column 1 and traces of 4 other lines from column 2. The fragment of Halle University (inv. no. 55) joins the BL fragment to the right and contains the ends of 9 lines from column 2 and the beginnings of 16 lines from column 3. The other fragment in Trinity College (FF1) joins the Halle papyrus at the bottom and the BL papyrus at the bottom right, and preserves the ends of 8 lines of column 2 and portions of 15 lines of column 3.

Upper papyrus (A): Lower right corner of a medium-brown papyrus, with plaster residue; written on one side across the fibres. The end of 1 line survives, with a small trace of another line at the top, and lower and right margins. The back is blank.

Second papyrus (B): Fragment of a medium-brown papyrus, complete at the top and broken off on the other sides; written on one side across the fibres. Portions of 10 lines survive, with only scant traces of the last two lines; the upper margin is extant. The back is blank.

Lower papyrus (C): Bottom of a medium-brown papyrus sheet, complete on the sides and broken off at the top; written on one side across the fibres. Four lines from the bottom of a column survive, with lower and side margins. The back is blank.
