Title:
Receipt for Allowances due to the Twin Sisters of the Serapeum (P.Lond. I 27, UPZ I 30, TM 3421)
Scope & Content:
Bank receipt for two payments made on account of the allowances of sesame oil of years 18 and 19, in the reign of Ptolemy VI and Cleopatra II, to the twin sisters of the Serapeum, Taous and Tages. Papyrus 31 (UPZ I 29), lines 6-12, is a duplicate of this text.

Medium-brown papyrus sheet, complete and well preserved. The writing runs on one side, and the back is blank. On the front, there are 7 lines running across the fibres; all margins are extant. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Money account on both sides of the papyrus, from the archive of Ptolemaeus son of Glaucias, 'recluse' (katochos) of the Serapeum in Memphis; with traces of erased lines.

Extent:
Medium-brown papyrus sheet, complete and well preserved. The writing runs on both sides. On one side, there are 6 lines running along the fibres, with ample blank space between lines 6 and 7, and traces of erased lines at the bottom; all margins are extant. On the other side, there are 8 lines running across the fibres, with ample blank space between lines 4 and 5. The last two lines are written upside down. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Scope & Content:
Account recording money payments for grain and especially for water, arranged in boxes. The account for water extends from the 16th of the month Pauni to the 26th of the month Epeiph. The back bears traces of two lines.

On the front, there are 4 lines, followed by several tables with figures; all margins are extant. The back bears two lines, badly damaged. Long and narrow papyrus sheet, complete, with few holes on the left and at the bottom not affecting the writing; written on one side along the fibres, the back being blank. There are 23 lines, complete; all margins are extant, with the blank at the bottom measuring 140 mm. A sheet-join runs from top to bottom at 30 mm from the left edge. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Scope & Content:
Petition to the hypodioiketes Sarapion from Ptolemaeus, recluse in the Serapeum of Memphis for eleven years, requesting the payment of the allowance of bread, which had fallen into arrears, to the twin sisters Taous and Tages. Papyrus 24 verso is a copy of the same petition.

Light-brown papyrus sheet, with a darker patch in the lower half, complete, displaying holes throughout and damaged in the upper right corner; written on both sides along the fibres, the back bearing one word. On the front there is one column of 32 lines, complete; all margins are extant, with the lower and right being minimal. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass case with the exception of a small window on the back, which shows the writing.

There is one column of 35 lines, with wide top. Left and bottom margins; the right margin is irregular and occasionally minimal. A sheet-join runs from top to bottom at 55 mm from the right edge.
