Letters 7-8 George Clifford and Sons in Amsterdam to Christopher Mole forwarding their letter dated 24 Jan 1747, providing shipping intelligence and explaining the delay in its dispatch.
Letter 164 Petition of Noquedah Poah to the Court requesting some financial relief following the seizure of his house and goods, as well as being compelled to purchase a vessel in Java.
Scope & Content:
Includes a partial imprint in red ink of his personal seal comprising two Chinese characters.
Letters 196-198 S. Harrison in London to William Mabbot submitting his proposal to establish trade at Liampo in Zhejiang Province, China. Includes a copy of a letter from the 'Tsong-tou to the Mandarins of Limpo and Chusan' and his proposal.
Scope & Content:
These papers appear to be the original plan for the famous voyage which carried James Flint to Chusan.
Letters 64-66 Thomas Tyrwhitt at the War Office to Robert James enclosing copies of letters from Lord Barrington to Colonel's Coote and Monson confirming their commissions.
Scope & Content:
Copies of letters to Colonel Coote and Colonel Monson received 22 May 1761.
Letter 260 George Clifford and Sons in Amsterdam to Robert James enclosing particulars of goods published at the recent Dutch East India Company sale
Scope & Content:
Enclosing sales notices in French and Dutch for the Chambers at Amsterdam, Zeeland, Delft, Rotterdam, Hoorn and Enkhuizen, to take place November and December 1762.
