'DAS GEMEIN-DIARIUM', variously known also as 'Pilger- Diarium', 'Diarium des Gemeinhauses', 'Diarium der Hütten', 'Diarium des Jüngerhauses': Diary, in German, of the 'Pilgergemeine' or 'Pilgrim- Congregation', the central group of the Moravian Brethren, comprising the founder, Count Nicolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf, commonly referred to as the 'Ordinarius' or the 'Jünger', i.e. the Disciple par excellence, his household and immediate coadjutors; 1747-1764 (with omission of 1757 and other imperfections). The diary, copied by a 'Schreiber-Collegium' and issued in weekly instalments (to which the numbers in the list below refer) to the various communities, records the activities of the Count and his itinerant group at the various settlements, reports his discourses, and in general forms with its supplements (not here included) a news budget of the whole Brotherhood. An 18th-cent. English translation of the diary for 1747-1753 and 1755-1764 inclusive and a German transcription for 1747-1754 are preserved in the John Rylands Library, Manchester (see F.
