Quarter leather and brown buckram stab-sewn volume (British Museum binding, 1971), measuring 233 x 170 mm, containing 24 albumen print portraits accompanied by letterpress biographical notices. With titlepage and index of sitters.This volume forms a continuation of volume 4 in the series, although unlike the earlier volumes, the part wrappers for volumes 5-6 have not been bound in. If this series continued publication according to the earlier sequence, the eight parts in this volume would have appeared at monthly intervals between March and October 1866. Bound with volume 6. British Library holdings comprise volumes 1-6, bound in three volumes.
