Calculations of the lunar eclipse in on the date Kangxi 10 (1671), 2nd month, 15th day. In Chinese and Manchu, by Father Ferdinand Verbiest (Nan Huairen, 南懷仁). There is a diagram next to the calculation for each province. The reading order is right to left for the Chinese and left to right for the Manchu.
Cover inscription reads: "Phases lunares Sinico-Tartaricè descriptæ, viz. an account of an Eclips as it appeared in China, printed in the Chinese and Tartar languages answering to each other columnwise, printed by Father Verbiest late Professor of Astronomy in China. This thô small in bulk, is a great Rarity, it being the only think of this kinde now in England. 1700."
The volume bears the stamp of George II, with the date 1757.
