Description: 1 kan, 1 satsu, in a box. ff. 21. 218 x 157 mm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 198 x 150 mm. (average). Single-line borders. Fishtail design on hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text, densely printed, with printed dakuten. 17 lines to page, variable no. of characters to line.
Original black covers embossed with a lattice and peony design. Original title slip on left, with printed gedai which reads (in part): つりぎつね / しのだつま / 并ニせいめいしゆつしやうの事 / 御堂筋 / 正本屋 / 九兵衛. Title from naidai on fol. 1a. Hashiragaki: しのたつま on some folios, しのた on others + folio no.
Edition: This appears to be a later printing of the first (and only) edition under this title, published by Tsuruya Kiemon 鶴屋喜右衞門 in Enpō 2 (1674). A version of the same work entitled simply Shinodazuma しのだづま was published in Enpō 6 (1678), 18 lines to the page.
Contents: A ko-jōruri shōhon (certified text of a jōruri playbook) concerning the legend of Abe no Seimei, son of Abe no Yasuna and the fox-woman of Shinoda.
