Author/compiler: Namura Jōhaku 苗村丈伯, also known as Sōdenshi 艸田子, Sankei 三徑, and other gō, fl. late-17th century.
Imprint: Edo, Izutsuya Chūzaemon; Ōsaka, Akitaya Ichibē; Kyōto, Daimonjiya Shichirōbē, Genroku 6, 1693. Author statement and kanki on fol. 64b read: 雒陽處士 ／ 艸田子 三徑 ／ 圖讃 ／ 元禄六年 ／ 癸酉孟春吉日 ／ 江戸芝神明前 井筒屋忠左衛門 ／ 大坂真齋橋筋秋田屋市兵衛 ／ 京押小路橘町 大文字屋七郎兵衛.
Description: 1 kan (of 3), 1 satsu, in a box. Incomplete copy: maki 下 only (maki 上 and 中 missing). ff. 47-64. 27.2 x 18.8 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 23 x 16.7 cm. Single-line borders, within which vertical and horizontal rules divide commentary and illustrations (above) and main text (below). Single white fishtail design on hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text, with printed furigana, dakuten and kutōten. 12 lines to page, variable number of characters to line.
Plain white under-covers, lacking original top layer of coloured paper. No title slip, no gedai or naidai. Title from hashiragaki: Ise monogatari eshō 伊勢物語繪抄 + folio no.
Edition: The only Edo-period edition.
Contents: Text of Ise monogatari 伊勢物語 in lower part of each page, with illustrations and brief textual commentary by Namura Jōhaku in the form of headnotes above.
