Description: 2 kan, formerly in 2 satsu, now rebound in 1 vol. western style. (Maki 上) ff. 11; (maki 下) ff. 11. 27.3 x 18.5 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 22.1 x 17.2 cm. (average). Single-line borders. No fishtail design on hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text, with printed dakuten and kutōten. 16 lines to page, 28-30 characters to line.
Original mid-blue front cover of maki 上 only, with original printed title slip on left.
Gedai: E-iri (tsunogaki) hachikatsuki jō 繪入 (角書) はちかつき 上. Title from naidai at head of each maki. Hashiragaki: はちかつき 上 (下) + folio no.
Edition: Third blockprinted edition, following two slightly differing editions both dated Manji 2 万治二年 (1659).
Contents: A tale of the Muromachi period (Muromachi jidai monogatari 室町時代物語), classed as otogi-zōshi and later printed as part of the complete set of 23 otogi-zōshi.
