Description: 5 kan, 5 satsu, in a box. (Maki 1) ff. [1] (序), [1] (目録), 20; (2) ff. [1] (目録), 19; (3) ff. [1] (目録), 18; (4) ff. [1] (目録), 18; (5) ff. [1] (目録), 19. 25.7 x 18.5 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 21.9 x 17.2 cm. Single-line borders. Single fishtail design on hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text, with printed furigana, dakuten and kutōten. 14 lines to page, 24-26 characters to line.
Original light blue covers, with original printed title slips remaining on satsu 1 and 4 only. Gedai: E-iri (tsunogaki) Ikkyū shokoku monogatari 繪入 (角書) 一休諸國物語. Title from mokurokudai at head of each maki. Hashiragaki: Ikkyū 一休 + maki no. + folio no.
Edition: The only recorded pre-modern edition. All known copies are undated. Most authorities agree on a publication date c. Kanbun 11-12 (1671-72).
Contents: A collection of sayings and anecdotes connected with the eccentric Zen monk Ikkyū Sōjun 一休宗純, 1394-1481, in the course of his journey through the provinces of Japan. This work is generally classed as a kana-zōshi. The identity of the compiler is not known.
