Author/compiler: Uncertain. Batsubun signed by Yūsōan 幽雙庵. According to Nihon koten bungaku daijiten 日本古典文学大辞典 (vol. 6, p. 251), the preface to Ruiji meisho kyōkashū 類字名所狂歌集 (1676) notes that its author, SASHINSHI Yoshichika 佐心子賀近, was the author of Inu hyakunin isshu also.
Imprint: N.p., Kanbun 9, 1669. Kanki reads: 寛文九己酉歳中夏上旬.
Description: 1 kan, 1 satsu, rebound in western style. Incomplete: ff. 1-23, 26-50, [1] . 22.9 x 17 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 19.5-20.5 x 15.8cm. Single-line borders. No fishtail design on hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text with printed furigana. One kyōka poem in upper half of each page. Lines of variable length.
Renewed light-brown front cover of late Edo period. Handwritten gedai on title slip of same period: 犬百人一首 寛文九年板. No naidai. Hashiragaki: Inu hyakunin isshu 犬百人一首 + folio no.
Rectangular red seal, Yokkaichi demise... Darumaya 四日市出店浅草御藏前旅籠町書肆達磨屋 (seal of Darumaya Goichi) on last page, before kanki.
Edition: The first of two editions recorded in Kokusho sōmokuroku 国書総目録. The later edition followed in Genroku 10, 1697.
Contents: A collection of 100 kyōka poems. Humorous pastiche of the Ogura hyakunin isshu 小倉百人一首.

Condition: Poor. Ff. 1-23 soiled, rubbed and disfigured, with urauchi repair of damaged folios. Ff. 26-50 better, but with some worm damage.
Impression: Sharp and clear, near shozuri.
Illustrations: Sumizuri woodcuts on the lower half of each page, illustrating the theme of the poem above. Some crudely hand-coloured.
Seals of ownership: Oval red seal, 儥書翁法齋悟一 at bottom right of first page. Small black seal, Kono nushi Senka このぬしせんくわ (seal of Ryūtei Senka 笠亭仙果) and small red seal, Shisei zō 只誠藏 (seal of Sekine Shisei 關根只誠), both at top of first page.
