Description: 1 kan, 1 satsu, rebound in western style. ff. 4 (preface), 35. 27.4 x 18.7 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 21.5 x 16.7 cm. Single-line borders all round. Fishtail design on hanshin.
Kanbun text, with printed kutōten but no kunten. 8 lines to page (large characters), 16 lines (small characters), 17 characters to line. Large, bold kaisho script.
Original off-white front cover only, with original title slip printed on silk. Gedai: 中庸章句. Naidai: Chūyō... Shuki shōku 中庸･･･ 朱熹章句. Hashiragaki: Shisho chūyō 四書中庸 + folio no. Text paper: kōzo, dyed pale yellow. In a western style half-leather binding.
Edition: Undated blockprint, late 17th century. One of four works in a set of commentaries on the Confucian classics entitled Shisho shūchū 四書集註, uniform with Daigaku shōku 大學章句 (ORB.30/175) and Rongo shitchū 論語集註 (ORB.30/169).
Contents: Text of the Zhongyong 中庸, with commentary by Zhu Xi 朱熹.
