This statue is said to be from the Palazzo Giustiniani near the Pantheon, and supposed to have stood in the Pantheon of Agrippa. The head and arms were ably restored by Thorwaldson. (Greek style),'

This wolf is believed to be the one dedicated by the Aediles Curules, Gneus and Quintus Ogulnii, in the year of Rome 458, B.C. 296. The children Romulus and Remus are modern, by Della Porta.'
