A flea-bitten grey horse with its groom holding a fly whisk and a red and blue horse-cloth. Inscribed in Persian characters: --’d Amir musauwir’; on back of original mount: ‘Hermit’ (perhaps the name of the horse). Water-colour; 11.5 by 17.5 ins.
A poor Akali mounted on horseback. Inscribed in Persian characters: ‘Nihang i muflis’ (Poor Crocodile); in English: ‘Nahung or Akhalee (or ‘Immortal’).’
