'An Nam Chii Lược' (Sketches of Annam by Lê Tắc)
Scope & Content:
The oldest known example of a history written in Hán (classical Chinese) by a private individual as distinct from official history. Lê Tắc, a former Vietnamese official from Nghệ An, wrote this piece in China after he went there with the Mongol invaders in 1285.
