IMPRESSIONS, from a mould made for John Doubleday in 1833, of the obverse and reverse of the golden bulla used by Henry VIII to confirm the treaty of Anglo-French alliance, 1527, now preserved in the Archives Nationales, Paris. PROOF IMPRESSIONS, mainly in plaster, of designs for nine English seals; 20th cent. Pencilled notes on the backs identify the designers as 'L.L.B' (no. 9), E[dward] E[arle] D[orling] (nos. 10, 11), [George Edward] K[ruger] G[ray] (nos. 13, 14, 16), and H[arold] S[tabler] (no. 15). The engravers are similarly identified as [? Robert J.] Richardson (nos. 9, 10, 12, 15(?)) and [George Taylor] Friend (nos. 11, 13(?), 14, 16). Transferred from the Department of Coins and Medals.
BYZANTINE LEADEN BULLAE, 6th-12th centt., and (77, 82) Venetian lead seals, 15th-16th centt., all found in Cyprus. Presented by Wing Commander T. O'B. Hubbard.
