'Pei-Han Railway survey.' - War Office ledger. Surveyed by Havildar Tilbir Bhandari, 9th Gurkhas, Jemadar Nur Khan, 9th Hodson's Horse, and Lance Naik Hussein Khan, 30th Punjabis.
Scope & Content:
Covers the route of the railway line from Peking (北京) to Hankow (漢口). Shows adjacent roads, settlements and hydrology. Some sheets also show adjacent relief. Indicates railway stations, and 666 numbered bridges. Place-names are given in Wade-Giles romanisation
Relates to items sent to the War Office, London by Intelligence Branch, Simla in March 1905. The 10 listed items were allocated respectively to Material. China. nos. 127-136. The file comprises the list and the covering letter.
