Three freehold houses on the east side of New Street [the "Great Piece of Ground formerly call'd Tenter Ground"] purchased in November 1792 from Robert Wilks for £4,500. The Company purchased the unexpired term of a lease on one of the houses in January 1794 from Lewis Jouenne for £500, and the assignment of a lease on the other two houses in 1793 from Mr Wilson and Mr Chater for £63.
Unexpired term of lease on nine houses in George's Court, Gravel Lane purchased in November 1792 from Joseph Freeman for £200, and freehold of these premises purchased in February 1793 from Thomas Russell and Robert Hulme for £200. A further sum of £320 was paid to Russell and Hulme in February 1794 to discharge the premises of a rent of £17 per annum for 34½ years.
