Scope & Content:
The advertisement is issued by the Governor General and Council, announcing their intention to discharge the bonds and inviting holders to present their bonds for redemption before 30 September 1775.
Duplicate certificate issued to Warren Hastings and Philip Francis from the Treasury at Bengal, the original signed by Warren Hastings and the Council at Fort William.
Scope & Content:
The certificate records money paid to the Treasury deriving from supercargoes and bills of exchange for the better supply of funds to Canton. The money is to be paid to Messrs. George Clive, John Walsh, Christopher D'Oyly and Henry Strachey [Trustees to Edward Clive, 1st Earl of Powis]
The report refers primarily to French foreign policy, with particular reference to the Compagnie des Indes, Malta, The King of Naples and the Jesuits. It is unclear whether the report was made in the form of a diary and compiled every day, or whether the dates merely indicate when the events refe...
