The letter describes a peace deal brokered by the Imam of Muscat [Sa‘id bin Sulṭān al-Sa‘id] between the people of Macculla [Al-Mukallā] and Soor [Sur]. 7,000 dollars are to be paid by to the Shaikh of Al-Mukallā by the people of Sur, as compensation for their losses.
