Copies of letters to Sir Robert Barker and Mr Gregory.
Scope & Content:
Neither letter's salutation states to whom the letter was written, information which has been added on the rear of the document in an 18th century hand, probably identical with the copyist's. The recipient's name is spelt 'Barkyr'.
A note observes that the same letter was also sent to Mr Marriott, Mr Hare and Captain Maclean. A second letter has also been copied on the same sheet, forming a report on the Clive's recent actions, however there is no indication of to whom this was sent.
Draft of a letter to Mr Houth and George Grenville.
Scope & Content:
It seems from notes on the reverse of the final folio that the letter was initially sent to Mr Houth and subsequently a copy was sent to Grenville. On both occasions that Grenville's name appears it is spelt 'Greenville'.
