1381: Letter from the Government of India, Home Department, transmitting a memorial from the Christian inhabitants of Calcutta reurging the request made in 1861 by the Trades' Association, and other commercial bodies in Calcutta, that whenever the fixed date of departure of the Mail Steamer shall fall on Monday, the vessel may be detained for 24 hours, so as to admit of the closing of the Mail on Monday instead of Sunday
