View from the Howrah Bridge, looking down onto the Ghat. The ghat, which stood immediately north of the bridge on the east bank of the Hugli, is built in a florid classical style, topped by a central drum. It was later demolished, although it was still standing in about 1946 (see Photo 934 (3))....
