Man and woman of the rice-pounder caste, chiefly found in the coastal areas of Travancore; the man with a mattock, standing by a rice pounder; the woman with baskets and coconuts. Inscribed: ‘Cudumbee. Cudumbuchee.’
Bishop and priest of the Syrian Church. The Bishop wears red, yellow and blue robes and carries a crozier; the priest wears a white dress with red head-cloth and carries a staff. Note: These two figures are almost exact duplicates of two drawings in Mss Eur D152, facing pp.173, 175.
