Cavalryman with lance and saddle-cloth ornamented with a lion. Inscribed in Persian characters: ‘Sawar i siyah’ (black trooper). Note: The inscription suggests that this may be an Abyssinian mercenary, but Ranjit Singh is not known to have employed these.
