G. Papers relating to the journal Temenos and the Temenos Academy Kathleen Raine launched the journal Temenos in 1980 with Keith Critchlow, Brian Keeble and Philip Sherrard. The journal aimed at encouraging the 'arts of the imagination' by promoting the work of writers, artists and poets whose work focussed on spirituality and imagination. In 1990 the Temenos Academy was founded, dedicated to the same philosophy as the journal and providing lectures and study groups on similar themes.
A. Correspondence Raine maintained two alphabetical series of extended correspondence with individuals (Add. 88675-88701 and Add. 88702-88748). The only distinction between them appears to be that the volume of letters from each correspondent is generally far greater in the first series. Raine's division of the material, which corresponds roughly but not exactly to the British Library's traditional distinction between special and general correspondence, has been retained.
