These applications for pension, made to the Committee in the UK, are mainly from NCOs and private soldiers (with a few officers and widows). They give details of previous service and place of origin.
These cover Great Britain, Ireland and the Colonies (excluding India) and refer mainly to soldiers. From April 1850 they show the district in which the death took place.
Both volumes give full recruitment and discharge details for European NCOs and other ranks. Vol 2 gives a pensioner's town of residence (from 1849) and includes widows (from 1862).
