King Harthacnut grants one hide (mansa) at Seolescumb (probably Coomb in East Meon, Hampshire) to to Bishop Ælfwine of Winchester; dated 1042, with English bounds (Sawyer, no. 994). Endorsed in a contemporary hand, ‘+ þis is þare hide boc to seoles cumbe.’; and in a 16th-century hand [?].
