Translation of a letter from Major John Morrison, to Jaffier Khan [Ja‘far Khan Zand], Ruler of Persia
Scope & Content:
The letter was written prior to Morrison's departure from Bussora [Basra] on 22 January 1787. It gives the news that the author has had to leave the Khan's camp and proceed to England where, if given the money, he will buy arms and return to help the Khan conquer Persia.
