Records of meetings of the Secret Committee of the Company held on 11 and 29 Sept 1762 recording their concerted opinion upon the Company's requirements of a treaty with France.
Copy of a letter from the Secret Committee to the Governor and Select Committee of Fort William dated 25 March 1757 concerning the impact of war between Britain and France and arrangements for reinforcements to be sent to India.
Part of Clive's journal during the voyage to India.
Scope & Content:
The entries refer to Clive in the third person. Although the entries are in Clive's handwriting it is possible that the journal is copied from the ship's records.
Draft letter, in essence a progress report from Clive.
Scope & Content:
Clive has not included the name of the intended recipient. A different hand has dated the letter and notes that this was the draft of a letter to Mr G. Grenville.
A letter probably written by one of Clive's party upon their arrival at Rio de Janeiro.
Scope & Content:
The letter is not signed and there is no salutation. The author complains of the unusual length of the voyage so far, suggesting that he was probably part of Clive's group, if so the date must be in 1764.
