Desakari Ragini. A couple sit embracing on a bed beneath a red awning. There are fountains, and a carpet with cushions on the terrace in the foreground; a border of narcissus is on the near side of the terrace fence.
Reverse: eight black and white birds are perched in a tree with Harivallabha’s Hindi verses written on their bodies; the Persian identification is written on the trunk of the tree.
Megha Raga. The crowned and garlanded Krishna stands holding a single flower in a landscape with trees in which are perched various birds; there is a stormy sky above, heralding the advent of rain.
Reverse: eight birds are perched in, and alighting around, a tree with Harivallabha’s Hindi verses written on their bodies; the Persian identification is written on the trunk of the tree.
Malavi Ragini. A couple stand embracing in a chamber by a bed. There are palace buildings enclosing a garden in the centre and a hawking scene in the landscape beyond.
Reverse: eight grey ducks bearing Harivallabha’s Hindi verses on their bodies swim in a lotus tank; the Persian identification is written on a ninth duck which splashes in the centre.
Vasanta Ragini. Krishna stands under a blossoming tree in a landscape surrounded by girls who carry vases of flowers and musical instruments; a bed of flowers is arranged at Krishna’s feet.
Reverse: Harivallabha’s Hindi verses are written on the near and far walls of a building near a lotus lake; the Persian identification is written on the wall of a central water-pavilion.
