Interviewed by Dr DeWitt Ellinwood on 8th March 1970. Ganda Singh was in the Indian Army from 1910 to 1919, and served in Mesopotamia in the last year of the First World War. In 1919, he served as a supply officer on the North West Frontier at Peshawar.

Interviewed by Dr DeWitt Ellinwood on 10th March 1970. On the outbreak of war in 1914, Rudra was in Cambridge and joined the University and Public School Regiment, and was later transferred to the 29th British Division. He fought in France during the First World War.
