Interviewed by S D Pradhan in 1971. Kartar Singh was in the Indian Army from 1915 to 1934, and rejoined again in 1944. On joining the Army, he was in the First Patiala Infantry. He served in Singapore and Cantara during the First World War.

Interviewed by S D Pradhan in 1971. Sarman Singh was in the Indian Army from 1914 to 1952, and was stationed in Patiala during the First World War. He served with the 1st Rajindra Sikhs (Infantry), and then joined the Army Training School Patiala as a drummer.

Interviewed by S D Pradhan in 1971. Inder Singh was in the Indian Army from 1918 to 1921 and again from 1923 to 1945. On joining the Indian Army, he was in the 31st Punjab Infantry. He served in Egypt and Turkey towards the end of the First World War.

Interviewed by S D Pradhan in 1971. Ram Singh was in the Indian Army from 1918 to 1919 with the 32nd Punjab (Infantry) Regiment, and served in Suez towards the end of the First World War. He also served at Kabul during the Afghan War in 1919.
