Petition to Roger Drake Esq. signed by 27 people requesting that neither Charles Manningham nor Mr Frankland shall be accepted as representatives of Calcutta in Madras in the aftermath of its loss.
Scope & Content:
The objection expressed is that since both men had left Calcutta before the retreat was agreed, they know little of the events on which they would be reporting.
Minutes of a consultation headed by the Hon Roger Drake which met to deliberate the terms of employment of Colonel Forde as Major of Company forces at Fort William.
Scope & Content:
It is possible that these comprise the records of two consultations, one in full on 26 February and extracts of a second on 6 March 1758.
Suggestions for the agreement of terms between the Company and the House of Commons for the extension of the Company's trading charter.
Scope & Content:
Each proposal is numbered and in most cases a name has been written in the top left hand corner, it is unclear if this name is that of author or recipient. None has been annotated.
Unsigned copy of a letter to the Court of Directors dated 1 February 1768.
Scope & Content:
The copy does not record the signatures, but it seems likely that these would have been either the Governor and Council or the Select Committee at Fort William. Dated at Fort William, concerning trade and ships.
