Received overland 24 September 1765, letter No. 9, B. The letter of 19 July 1765 reports that a previous packet had missed the Courier at Constantinople by one day, but that on this occasion it had a lucky escape as the Courier on departing there had been plundered of all his packets.

Letter 103 William Kinloch, Consul at Aleppo to Robert James that he had been called to Constantinople to handle affairs there in the Ambassadors absence and that he had made arrangements for Mr Charles Smith to handle the company's packets coming through Aleppo
