The newspapers are dated at Fort William and relate to military and mercantile matters. Reports of military matters refer to both the English army and that of Shuja ud-Daula and Cossim Ali Khan. The translations include some social news.
Petition to Clive signed by Thomas Hill, William Congreve and Roger Kynaston requesting that Mr John Walter Harwood may be recommended to Colonel Forde for speedy preferment in the Army in India.

Dr Walker recommends that an overview of the Indian situation upon Clive's arrival there would be an advantageous addition to the text. He was presumably commenting upon Malcolm's Life of Clive, but this is nowhere stated.
