Ballads and Sonnets by Dante Gabriel Rossetti; [1871?]-1881. Autograph drafts and fair copies of poems included in, and considered for, Ballads and Sonnets, 1881. Although the poems were composed at various dates between 1869 and 1881, it seems probable that, with the exception of 1407-1409 and 1420, the MSS. were written in 1880-1881 when Rossetti was preparing Ballads and Sonnets, 1881. A3840, 3847, 3848, 3849, 3852, 3857, 3859, 3860 and 3861 may well have once formed part of the same note...
