Extent:

Two papyrus fragments that do not belong together, from mummy cartonnage, housed in the same glass frame.

Upper papyrus (A): Mid-brown sheet, with plaster residue and holes; written on both sides. The front bears 13 lines written across the fibres; margins are minimal. The modern annotation indicates the mummy from which the papyrus derives. In the lower half of the back there are two lines along the fibres, and a drawing at the top.

Lower papyrus (B): Fragment of the same papyrus sheet as Papyrus 510, being its lower left-hand corner; bearing the beginnings of the last three lines, written across the fibres. The back is blank. With traces of plaster.

Letter to Cleon from Thamous on business matters, informing him that he had contracted the work and given Cleon’s receipt to Pasis. He also reported that the dyke was being flooded, and they were not responsible for this.

Extent:

Long and narrow papyrus slip covered with plaster, reused as mummy cartonnage, broken off at the bottom; the right edge was cut off. Writing runs across the fibres on one side, the back being blank. The front bears one column of 16 lines, few of which lack the ends. The upper margin measures 20 mm. The modern annotation at the top indicates the mummy from which the papyrus comes. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Letter concerning the works required on a canal. The sender, whose name is lost, informs the recipient that he has sent him a copy of the letter to a certain Timoxenus concerning this matter. The addressee is asked to meet or write to another person about this. With address on the back.

Fragmentary papyrus sheet, with detached strips, reused as mummy cartonnage; with plaster residue and holes in the preserved portion; broken off to the left (front), with a loss of c.17 letters (90 mm); written on both sides. The front bears 8 lines running across the fibres, lacking the beginnings; only line 8 is complete. Upper and lower margins measure 20-25 mm; the right margin is minimal. The modern annotation at the bottom refers to the mummy from which the papyrus derives. On the back there is the end of a word written along the fibres, upside down in relation to the text on the front. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Four fragments of varying size from mummy cartonnage, perhaps from the same text; writing runs across the fibres on the front, the back being blank. The fragments are mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Upper fragment (A): Broken off at the top, bottom and right; portion of 6 lines remain, with a trace of another line at the bottom. The left margin measures 8 mm.

Fragment in the middle (B): Lower portion of the sheet, broken off at the top and right; with 6 lines; the lower margin measures 15 mm and the left 8 mm.

Lower left fragment (C): Broken off on all sides; with portions of 5 lines and traces of another line at the top and bottom.

Lower right fragment (D): Broken off on all sides; with portions of 8 lines.

Letter of Dionysius to Dorus, enclosing the copy of the memorandum sent to him by the vice-engineer Petechonsis, with instructions on works to be conducted on canals for the irrigation of land. The back bears a docket including summary and date, and the address.
