Inscription: Signed and numbered Shepherd & Robertson, Photo: 1120 in the negative. Three sword bearing men kneeling, holding swords. On the left stands a bearer holding a staff; with a large hookah in the foreground. Also, a barely legible inscription on the negative reads (?)'Pi611'.

Mathura was visited by the compiler of this album between 11th and 13th March, 1878. Full-length seated studio portrait of a seth (rich merchant/donor) of Mathura. Tentatively identified as Seth Luchmee Chund. Photograph unsigned, but probably by Bourne and Shepherd.
