‘Pac-tchow-Sheun. This differs little or nothing in construction from the preceding. It is the kind of vessel, which makes voyages to Malacca, Batavia, Manilla etc’. Inscribed: ‘Boat from Po-ts’ao.’
‘Shui-loc-Sheun. Literally a Lantern boat. This kind of boat is decorated with lanterns on a particular festival of the Chinese which takes place in their Seventh month’. Inscribed: ‘Boat for celebration of ‘Middle of 7th month’ festival (sacrifice to spirits on land and in water).’
‘Lung Sheun. Literally Dragon or Snake boat. On a particular festival of the Chinese which falls on their fifth month, boats of this construction are used as Race boats’. Inscribed: ‘Dragon boat of the festival on the 5th of the 5th month.’
