MINIATURES and borders, taken out of Italian illuminated MSS., on vellum; formerly in the collection of the late John Malcolm of Poltalloch. B, C, G-Q, were brought to England about 1820 by the Abbate Cellotti, "who stated that they had been cut out of books in the Vatican Library during the time of the French occupation of Rome" (Cat., p. 279).
