Prime Minister Bir Shumsher J.B. Rana (governed 1885 - 1901). He made many important reforms and infrastructural improvements during his reign. He established Durbar High School, Bir Hospital, Bir Tower (Ghanta Ghar), Pathshala (School) and a sanitary system.
King Tribhuvan Bir Bikram Shah Dev. He became King at the age of 5 on 2 February 1911. He was king until 1955. He is known as the "father of democracy" who ended the 104 year Rana rule and introduced multi-party system.
