The East India Company first leased the warehouse and adjoining dwelling in Seething Lane from Sir John Eyles in 1722. The Company was granted a further lease in 1745 by Sir Gregory Page but was no longer in possession of the premises by the time L/L/2/1 was compiled c.1813.
