The letter is acknowledging the receipt of communications dated 26 August 1817 and 6 September 1817 and informing the Resident that the Governor approves of Assistant Surgeon Sharp having gone to Shiraz to treat Lieutenant Blast, but does not agree that this should be paid for by the public.
