Following on from his previous letters (including f 20-20v), Grant Keir requests from Bruce any information he can offer of acts of piracy committed on the Persian coast, and of the Persian coast's ports, specifically Lingua [Bandar-e Lengeh], Mogar [Moghūyeh], Tawani and Charrack [Karrak].

In his letter Litchfield requests that Bruce send him via the Benares the sum of 9,000 rupees, due to him in credit by the Residency to the Bombay Government.

The letter concerns the delivery of a packet. Willock writes to Dow (who is Acting Resident at Bushire) to confirm receipt of the last packet, and specifies the terms of payment for the bearer of the packet, dependent on the time taken to reach Dow.
