The indenture is the agreement that the commission-holder shall not accept gifts without the consent of the Company. The document is either a draft of a copy, since it does not seem to have been sealed or signed.
Evidence given against Clive concerning the regulation of the trade in salt, bettel nut and tobacco.
Scope & Content:
The author is convinced that the monopoly created by Clive was the cause of the Bengal famine of 1769-1770. The copyist has also copied marginal notes written on the original.
