Seven freehold houses in Hand Alley purchased in May 1796 from Thomas Nesham for £1,000 to enable the Company to close the Alley and open a new street into Petticoat Lane.
Three freehold houses on the east side of New Street [the "Great Piece of Ground formerly call'd Tenter Ground"] purchased in November 1792 from Robert Wilks for £4,500. The Company purchased the unexpired term of a lease on one of the houses in January 1794 from Lewis Jouenne for £500, and the assignment of a lease on the other two houses in 1793 from Mr Wilson and Mr Chater for £63.
Residue of term for 500 years in Clarks Court and part of Ropers Buildings purchased in December 1796 from Reverend Josiah Thompson and Dr Abram Wilkinson for £400. The Ropers Buildings property was acquired in order to widen Harrow Alley under the terms of an Act of Parliament
