27 Crutched Friars leased in 1756 by John Hill to the Commissioners of HM Navy, and subsequently leased to the East India Company by the trustees of Mary Baynham's Gift, a local charity administered by the parish of St Olave Hart Street.
The East India Company agreed in 1835 to sell the Haydon Square tea warehouses together with a family dwelling to the St Katherine Dock Company for £46,000.
